Image Overload!@

So, I know its been awhile since my last update but I’ve been very busy!  I know I have to upload some new content and currently I’m running into image overload!  So many things to post so little time to do so!  I will promise myself that I’m going to have some awesome stuff up soon!

Out of the Office

I will be out of the office until February 1st.  I have come down with the plague and will be under quarantine until then.  All currently scheduled appointments will conducted business as usual.

Top 5 – Wedding Mistakes To Avoid!

5. Last Minute “_____” (Fill In The Blank)

Last minute

Last minute

This may seem like the most dead obvious mistake but believe me, I’ve seen my share of last minute [blank].  You name it I’ve seen it, from on the fly wedding gown alterations that would amaze even MacGyver – to blatantly obviously neglect of details resulting in high anxiety and poorly constructed finishing touches.

4. Poor Communication With Those Involved

Communication

Communication

So many vendors, family members, and guests one can certainly see where things may end up mis-communcated.  With texting, social media, and word of mouth it can be very easy for information to become mixed up – dates, times, locations, colors, sizes, prices – you name it!  There are fantastic websites out there like wedding wire and the knot that allow you to create a bridal website to organize all of your wedding information.  All of your details will be in a centralized location and updated only by you.  Everyone communicates online these days even Aunt Ethel from New Hampshire so seriously consider utilizing these services!

3. Sweating The Small Stuff

Tiny Things

Tiny Things

The month before your wedding can be extremely stressful, especially if you haven’t avoided the first two pitfalls I listed.  You will probably have disagreements about final details, probably will have arguments with your fiancee – taking out your frustrations out on him.  On your wedding day, heaven forbid your linens or flowers are slightly off color, or one table is missing a center piece.  No one will remember any of that.  What they will remember is how stressed out you were and every photo will reflect that state of mind.

2. Doing It All Yourself

Alone

Alone

Enjoying making arrangements for your big day is one thing.  When you put all the weight of the wedding on your shoulders and you start to stress, you’re not doing yourself any favors.  Don’t be afraid to ask for help.  Its your big day and everyone wants to celebrate with you and people are more than willing to help make arrangements for you.  Delegate responsibility and don’t forget the Groom ;)

1. Not Hiring Professionals!

You're Doing It Wrong

You’re Doing It Wrong

First and foremost hire wedding professionals for each and every aspect of your wedding.  When it comes to weddings the old saying, “You get what you pay for” has never been more true.  Your wedding day is arguably the single biggest milestone in your life.  When it comes to trusting someone with that big day, professionals are competent in their jobs because they are constantly involved in their industry and working, performing their craft.  If your uncle Bob or a friend of the family says they can photograph your wedding on some ridiculous budget all I have to say is, caveat emptor – Let the buyer beware!  Buy a piece of mind, hire a professional.

Website Updates & Brand Merging

SEO

Busy, busy, busy a new year always means more work, more deadlines, and more fun!

In the coming weeks we will be merging the few brands we have into one. This will help create more frequent updates, allow for increased productivity, and is part of our grand scheme of increasing our S.E.O. ranking. Within the first quarter of this calendar year we will implement sub-domains for all of our photography offerings.  Here are some examples of our new domain structure:

  • Wedding photography will be located at – wedding.vincentgizzi.com
  • Real Estate photography will be located at – realestate.vincentgizzi.com
  • Family Portraits will be located at – familyportraits.vincentgizzi.com – and so forth

We will also be bringing back some old product offerings due to popular demand, such as newborn, maternity, and family portraits. We are sorry we dropped these offerings for 2013, but we will kick off the new year right with some awesome incentives on booking those sessions previously mentioned.

Last call for for 2013!

image

It is that time of year again! The Great Purge is at hand.  This is the time of year we clear out the web server and our office computers in preparation for the new year.  We archive all of our files from completed projects (this does not apply to clients with outstanding orders).  Files will be relocated to long term storage.  Files in long term storage are no longer available via the websites or via our computers.  Should clients need copies of these files they are retrieved on an as needed basis.  Clients may request access to these files via email (info@vincentgizzi.com) or call (518) 212-7499.

2014 Plans for Order Processing and Social Media Strategies

Social Media

Social Media

Let us start off by saying, thank you everyone for your support in 2013!  We had our busiest year both in photographing your memories, and bringing them to life in the form of print.  It was a very exciting trend to see people turning back to traditional prints, books, and enlargements as opposed to digital discs.

With all of this being said, we learned a lot about the industry and the way it in changing.  This in turn revealed new insight on how we were doing business versus how we wanted to do business.  Our main goal is to always to project an image of professionalism and confidence for our brand, so we will be making a few significant changes in 2014!

Order Processing

We are in the process of implementing a streamlined order processing system.  This system will be built from the ground up in-house.  By eliminating 3rd party companies like, DropBox, MediaFire, Flickr, and Drop.io, we will be able to take full control of online file distribution.  We want to be wholly responsible for our client’s images and this will bring about a closer relationship with our clients.  So in 2014 look forward to a centralized, streamlined way of viewing and downloading your digital images centered around our desire to share a closer relationship with you.

The second change in order processing will be in the way clients actually send request for products and service appointments.  We have already implemented a system for scheduling service appointments.  We will be adapting this system in coming weeks to suit a streamlined product ordering system for our clients that wish to receive printed products.  Also as a result of this endeavor, we will no longer be accepting service requests by social media, sms text messaging, or any other means outside of the official Service Request Order form found on our websites.

Social Media

I can hardly believe this year is over already!  We grew and grew like never before with our social media outlets.  Our latest social media foray into Twitter has been incredible, it is as if we struck oil!  We can not believe we have over-looked Twitter for sooooo long!  Almost immediately using a new social media strategy tweeting we gained more ground, faster on Twitter than we did all year on Facebook!

With this being said, we will no longer be actively monitoring our Facebook accounts, Flickr, 4-Square, tumbler, G+, Linkedin and Instagram for messages or comments regarding inquiries about schedule availability, product orders, or questions and comments regarding our services.  This directly ties into our Plans to revamp our Order Processing and the way we do business in 2014.  We are not abandoning these social media communities you will still see updates via Twitter.  Twitter has the ability to broadcast across multiple social media sites, the ability to check-in at all our favorite spots, and immediately publish images and videos of all the great things we see.  To continue publishing content on all of the aforementioned communities would be redundant, time consuming, and increases the likely hood of your questions or comments going unheard.

With all this being said we are looking forward to a new year of increased productivity, beautiful organization, and most importantly closer relationships with out clients!

Beth & Pat’s Wedding – Schenectady, New York

This was my first time at the Edison Country Club in Rexford, NY and I was pretty impressed with the venue ascetically as well as the service provided by their fine staff!  Beth and Pat were so much fun, all of their friends and family were dancing and laughing and having a fantastic time.  I just had to get home and put some photos online ASAP!  Here’s a handful including some pictures of the Hypnotic bar they had!
